art passages exhibited art from the El Cerrito Art Association, representing District 1 from May 20 – July 24, 2008.
The El Cerrito Art Association provided thirty-three selected works from their
32nd Annual Art Show (which was held in April 2008) for this art passages exhibit. Each year, El Cerrito Art Association provides the community with a
non-juried art show representing a cross-section of artworks; giving all
artists, at various levels, an opportunity to experience the world of
exhibiting. The art passages exhibit featured some
of the most outstanding artworks from the El Cerrito Art Association's annual event, and highlighted the unique
talents of these local artists.
art passages is a changing exhibition program in the county
administration building's public spaces that highlights arts
organizations (and their member artists) throughout Contra Costa
County. Each exhibition is on display for approximately three to four
months and celebrates the diverse forms of creative expression of
artists representing one of Contra Costa County's five supervisorial
districts. The exhibition program is designed to create an opportunity
for artists to show their work to a larger public, to support the
larger community’s awareness of and familiarity with county artists, to
form relationships with regional art organizations, and to attract
potential buyers for county artists’ work.
