Developed in 2001 as a California 501(c)3 non-profit organization, The Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch (ACFA) is dedicated to advancing all of the arts in a way that promotes communication, education, appreciation, cultural diversity and collaboration throughout the Antioch community. ACFA is funded by the City of Antioch, and various community grants, such as the Keller Canyon Mitigation Grant.

ACFA has a six-member Board of Directors, whose backgrounds include art, business, planning, and architecture, providing a diversely qualified vision of the arts in Antioch. AFCA provides visual arts programs through the Historic Lynn House Gallery which exhibits throughout the year presenting a wide spectrum of themes, media and styles, with an emphasis on providing opportunities for local artists.

ACFA also promotes an appreciation for the visual arts by taking on responsibility for Public Art in the Lone Tree Way and Hillcrest Assessment District with the City of Antioch. Three Public Art projects are planned in prominent locations within the assessment district with the intention of encouraging a sense of shared community, heritage, and a pride of place for future generations.

The East County Artists Exhibit was a gathering of local artists that are associated with ACFA through the Lynn House Gallery or other visual art programs. Artists exhibited were from Antioch, Pittsburg, Bay Point, Discovery Bay, and Oakley. Some artists featured were veteran artists, others were novice, but all have a passion for the arts.

For more information about ACFA, please visit their website at www.art4antioch.org
Additional artwork for this exhibition was on view in the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers (Room 107 to your right at the end of this gallery), in the Foyer Hallway (turn left at the end of this gallery), and in the Building Inspection Department, North Wing, 3rd Floor.
