art passages presents: Together
We Can Make a Difference
April 1, 2008 – May 2, 2008
AC5 was a co-sponsor of the
15th annual Cesar Chavez Celebration “Together We Can Make a Difference.” In order to integrate this theme, and in the spirit of Cesar Chavez and his
remarkable ability to evoke conviction in human nature, AC5 invited six dynamic
Latin artists from various districts within Contra Costa County to participate
in the event, including: John Acosta from
Antioch, Iris Alfonso-Giebus, from
Walnut Creek, Jason Dube from
Concord, Sally Rodriguez from
Martinez, Angelica Samame from
Lafayette, and Tom Zamaria from Martinez.
Each of these artist offer their own distinctive style and creativity
while sharing the Latin cultural connection.
“Long live the revolution of
art, for it is this very expression, this endeavor that transcends all
limitation, nationalities, and is the true emancipation of the soul. I believe in the healing power of creativity”
says Sally Ann Rodriguez.
