The Vision of District III Artists
This exhibit featured the artwork of 38
artists who reside in Supervisor Mary Piepho's District III (Alamo,
Blackhawk, Brentwood, Byron, Danville, Diablo, Discovery Bay, Dougherty
Valley, Knightsen, San Ramon, Tassajara, Walnut Creek (part)) who are
members of the Alamo-Danville Artists' Society. The talent and skill of these artists is evident in their works.
"Many of the pieces in this exhibition speak of place, which isn't surprising for artists residing in the communities around Mt. Diablo and the Delta," said Jennifer Delgadillo Bevington, former AC5 Exhibitions Manager, "but the vision goes beyond District III, the county and the state." Echoing themes of previous art passages exhibitions, Bevington noted that, "The overall impression of the exhibition, which is mounted on five different floors of the County Administration Building, is of the power, and beauty of place that these works of art convey with such certainty and simplicity"
The Alamo-Danville Artists' Society is composed of artists and others for the purpose of enhancing the productivity of its members, and to promote the development and exhibition of visual fine arts in the San Ramon Valley and surrounding areas. ADAS yearly donates 10% of artists' sales to help art programs in local schools.
Supervisor Mary Piepho dedicated this seventh exhibition for the art
passages series during the Board of Supervisors' meeting on Tuesday,
March 1, at 9:30 a.m. in the building at 651 Pine Street.
