NEW ART PASSAGES SHOW COMMEMORATES CESAR CHAVEZ
Each year for the past fifteen years, the County Board of Supervisors has dedicated a Board meeting to a commemoration of Cesar Chavez. This event (April 1, 2008) included speakers, youth awards, music, and a luncheon.
For 2008, AC5 partnered with the event planning group to provide an exhibit of art dedicated to the theme "Together We Can Make a Difference". This exhibition, including the works of artists John Acosta, Iris Alfonso-Giebus, Jason Dube, Sally Ann Rodriguez, Angelica Samame, David Tafolla, and Tom Zamaria, will be in the County Administration Building at 651 Pine Street in Martinez during the month of April.
Our photo shows AC5's Exhibition Manager, Rebecca Ines, hanging a photograph of Cesar Chavez.
Keep Your Nonprofit Status: FORM
990
Starting in 2008 for annual year 2007, all nonprofits have to file some kind of
documentation with the federal Internal
Revenue Service (IRS). Nonprofit organizations that do not file Form 990 (or
the simplified versions of this form) for three consecutive years may lose
their 501(c) status.
The California Arts Council
encourages Californians to pass the word about the new Form 990 requirements to
others in the nonprofit field, especially volunteers who may sit on the large
number of small nonprofit boards. For more information about these issues, take
a look at the IRS
website for charities at www.irs.gov/charities. Published by the California Arts Council
