Commissioner David Duer |

David Duer, a long-time resident of Richmond, comes to AC5 with 30 years’ experience in non-profit management and development.
He is currently Director of Development and External Relations
for the University Library at the University of California in Berkeley.
Prior to this position, he held the positions of Chief Development
Officer for the UC Davis Health System and Associate Director of
College Relations for the UC Berkeley College of Engineering.
Commissioner Duer’s community and professional associations
include serving on the School Board Oversight Committee for the West
Contra Costa School District, acting as Secretary/Treasurer for Kamps
for Kids in Richmond, and membership in the Council for Advancement and
Support of Education, a national clearinghouse for fundraising
professionals.
Commissioner Duer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech
from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in education from the University
of Southern California, Los Angeles. Early in his career, he taught
secondary school in Richmond, California and Mwense, Zambia.
