Intellectual Property Seminar May 19

AC5 is cosponsoring California Lawyers for the Arts' (CLA) intellectual property seminar, Copyright, Trademark and Patent  to be held on Monday, May 19 in Pleasant Hill.

This seminar is a must for all artists and entrepreneurs.  Learn about ownership and protection of your work.  This essential seminar will provide an overview of copyright, trademark and patent, define terms and cover issues including registration, infringement, fair use and licensing, non-disclosure agreements and trade secrets.

Presenters:

  • Attorney Robert G. Pimm counsels creative people and their companies in the arts and technology. Specializing in Literary and Publishing Law, Entertainment Law, Intellectual Property Law and Corporate Law.
  • Attorney M.J. Bogatin has served as a speaker on dozens of topics for CLA for almost 20 years, including Artist-Gallery Agreements, Fine Arts Sales Agreements, Artist-Agent relations, Collaboration Agreements, Business Formation, Partnerships and Joint Ventures, Authors and Publishing Agreements, Non-profit incorporation, Music Agreements, Art Conservation Agreements, Public Art and Muralists' Rights

Keepers of the Flame to Air on CCTV

 "Keepers of the Flame", a program featuring the five artists honored at our October awards event will be available for viewing on CCTV on Sunday evenings at 8:00 p.m.  Most Contra Costans can view the 30-minute program on Astound Channel 32 or Comcast Channel 27.

See artist and teacher Robert Chapla display his paintings highlighting the importance of maintaining open space in our county; watch Joyce Johnson-Hamilton, conductor of the Diablo Symphony Orchestra, play a baroque wind instrument; and cheer teacher and cartoonist Bill Leach in his efforts to inspire his students. Sydney Metrick, PhD, describes her creative community art projects while photographer John Spence Weir recalls the joy of seeing future photographers develop in his DVC classes.
